M & S Consultants Pty
Ltd specialise in the provision of
distance education and conferencing software. Our core product
is REACT or Remote Education And Conferencing Tool which
was developed in-house. REACT is an award-winning
dynamic, interactive and collaborative software
program designed to meet the educational, training and
conferencing needs of geographically dispersed people.
We are based in Darwin in the
Northern Territory of Australia (NT) where distance education is
the only option for many isolated students. REACT is
the software of choice for the NT Department of Education &
Training (NTDET) for the delivery of Interactive Distance
Learning (IDL) lessons to their students. The Schools of the
Air in the NT - arguably the largest classroom in the world
covering an area of 1,000,000 square miles use REACT as
their key delivery mechanism for all their students.
Other key educational clients
include the Charles Darwin University (NT), the University of the
South Pacific and the Ministry of Education in Fiji.
REACT also provides an
innovative video-conferencing solution where you can attend
meetings without leaving the comfort of your desk, just by using
your laptop or desktop computers. This eliminates the need to
book meeting rooms or buy expensive video-conferencing
equipment. The NTDET use REACT for their
video-conferencing needs as do the NT Justice Department.
REACT is unique in that it
is designed to run over not only terrestrial communication networks
but is optimised for use over satellite communication networks,
which are often the basis for remote communications. Issues
inherent in satellite such as latency problems have been overcome
by the skilful use of appropriate technologies. The software
is also scalable ensuring efficiency and optimum performance.
Although only launched onto the
market in 2005, REACT quickly won awards
for its innovation, performance and potential. In the same
year, the software won the NT Information Communication
Technology Award and later won the prestigeous Australian
Consensus Software Award in 2006.
